Introduction

Flood Network enables communities to be better informed of potential flood risk, while providing additional data points to environmental agencies and researchers.

It achieves this via a crowdsourced network of water level sensors that can be installed by small water courses, culverts and rivers etc. to provide localised flood monitoring.

Calderdale sensors

Sensors are currently installed at the following locations:

  • Tenterfields Business Park

With more to be installed over the coming months as part of a joint initiative between Flood Network and AB Open.

This will result in a total of six sensors being installed in the Upper Calder Valley and offers to host additional sensors are welcomed.

Data sources

Sensor readings are available via the Flood Network Map and Things Calderdale Data Platform.
